Contented, contentment how is that different from satisfied? Contentment is being okay with what is happening with and to you. Whereas satisfied is like when God looks at Jesus who is intervening on our behalf. We can’t get to God without Him, His Son. Are you content in your life, church, family and work? You may be content in some areas but not in others. Do you feel like if there is a problem, that you can communicate it so that there is a beginning point to start to solve the problem? Sometimes we just avoid the problem and walk away, but that isn’t the answer. If you are discontented with a situation, pray. Bringing it to Jesus, thinking about it and dwelling, focusing on it helps us find the words to communicate the issue so that resolution is found. Only by talking, sharing, caring enough to work at the problem can we join together and help each other out. Most of us will be sharing a table with someone soon. Let Jesus in, have Him sit right there beside you. Find the solution together in whatever area that needs it, family, church, work. It is amazing what God and His Son can do.
Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 9)”I kept looking until the thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow and hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, its wheels were a burning fire. 10)”A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him; thousands upon thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; the court sat, and the books were opened. 13)”I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. 14)”And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed. Here we find a physical description of God, and a place, before His throne. An action a Kingdom given to Jesus and all the glory and people too. Something to think about, are you in the book?
Psalm 93 1)The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved. 2)Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting; 3)The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice, the floods lift up their pounding waves. 4)More than the sounds of many waters, than the mighty breakers of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty. 5)Your testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness befits Your house, O LORD, forevermore. Another description of the power and the fact that He has always and will always be.
Revelation1:4-8 4)John to the seven churches that are in Asia; Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5)and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood– 6)and has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father— to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7)BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. 8)”I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Here is the proof, the One foretold, the One who came for us, the One who will come again. Over and over it is underscored, highlighted and in BOLD. He lives for us, He died for us, He comes for us.
John 18:33-37 33)Therefore Pilate entered again into the Praetorium, and summoned Jesus and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” 34)Jesus answered, “Are you saying this on your own initiative, or did others tell you about me?” 35)Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered You to me: what have You done?” 36)Jesus answered, “MY kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” 37)Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a King. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” 38)Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews and said to them, “I find no guilt in Him. Drawing back to the Daniel passage, again the Kingdom given to Jesus, but here He clarifies what He means by His kingdom. It is not worldly, those who hear Him are part of that kingdom. Even those whom He spent time with in the Temple did not hear the truth. We are the ones who bear witness to Jesus, we hear Him as the sheep knows the Shepard’s voice. It is really hard to tune out this world and focus on Jesus. I hang on to the hope given by Him, He is worthy.
