Call to Order
A monthly meeting of the All Saints Church Council was held on January 19, 2023 at All Saints Lutheran Church. The meeting was presided over by Art Mory, Council President. The meeting was called to order at 7:04pm. A quorum was declared by Art Mory.

Approval of minutes:
September and November minutes were distributed for corrections and approval. Motion made by DJ Schoneweis to accept August minutes. The motion carried with 4 yea’s in favor and 0 nays against.
Staff Reports
Youth & Family Ministries report deferred – Mara LOA
- Souper Bowl of Caring is under way and has been published by Julia. Mission Monday to discuss the set-up of the collection area – Art will take point
- Mara has Y&F Ministries activities on auto pilot through March
Children’s Learning Center Report was presented by Karolyn Havener
- CLC (and other staff) would like to have a maintenance manual/contact list to reference
- Council would like to see the Property Email continue to go to Mary Rosas, but if possible would like it also to go to Donald Scheeler as Chair of Board of Trustees
Financial Reports were presented by Bev Byers
- December and Year-end report deferred to February due to year end activities
Communications Report was presented by Julia Bessler
Call Committee Report was presented by Art Mory for Marc Funderburk
- Monday interview went well and Pastor Hellemo has been invited to preach and preside at worship on January 29th.
Trustee Reports
Board of Ministry Report was presented by Lois Stephenson
Property Report was presented by Donald Scheeler
- Mary Rosas will continue to hold the Property Team credit card.
- Motion made by Lois Stephenson, seconded by DJ Schoneweis, to approve the 2023 lawncare contract with The Weekenders Lawn Service. The motion carried with 4 yea’s in favor and 0 nay’s.
Motion made by DJ Schoneweis, seconded by Donald Scheeler to accept staff and trustee reports. The motion carried with 4 yea’s in favor and 0 nays against.
Old Business
- Roof
- Property team and staff continue to monitor repaired areas, so far, no issues.
- Sacristy Leak
- Wedding packet – no update, Art/Julia to resume this month. There have been no requests for weddings so far this year.
- Gas Lease – Beverly and DJ need to meet
Announcements
- Council Protocols/Reminders
- Insure that when we are approached with a question regarding a specific ministry or staff item, we bring the appropriate ministry chair or staff member into the conversation.
- Try to keep the status quo in worship activities until a new pastor is on boarded. Specific worship questions should be reviewed by the Worship Team made up of Joe Alan (music and choir), Mara McGee (Y&F Ministries), Art Mory (Praise Team Leader), Bev Byers (Altar Guild Rep), Julia Bessler (Communications) and Lois Stephenson (Chair of Ministries).
- Shared Drive Procedures
- Bev will invite the Council to the Microsoft 365 Shared Drive. We will hold additional training next meeting. If 365 does not work for us, we will look at using Google Drive.
- Lent/Easter Worship Services
- Ashe Wednesday – Council suggests we find an ordained pastor to preside and do the Imposition of Ashes. Joe Alan will be asked to do music.
- Lenten Services –
- Julia Bessler has agreed to adjust The Chosen Bible Study to weekly on Wednesdays during Lent.
- We will do a Soup Supper prior to the Bible Study as a fellowship activity. Art Mory to take point and work with Mission Monday team.
- Art will check with Worship Team and John Barnes to if this will work.
- Easter thoughts – Easter Sunday worship will be in the Sanctuary. Easter Sunrise Service location TBD by weather forecast.
