Summer Memories

2For you are a people holy to the LORD your God; it is you the LORD has chosen out of all the peoples on earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

Deuteronomy 14:2

When I was a child many many many many many years ago, Summers were filled with various activities. There were lessons to learn how to swim. Sports with other children in the neighborhood. And a host of activities sponsored by our town. When we soon tired of these things, there were the many Vacation Bible Schools offered by the churches of our neighborhoods. My birth church offered two weeks in the morning and you could also attend evening sessions from other churches. There were crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks. We would return home each day with lesson papers, our craft works of art and stories to tell to our parents and anyone else who would listen.

What memories can we provide for the children in our world today? Will stories about Jesus be part of their Summer memories? Will they know that they are treasured and loved by God? All Saints Lutheran will do its part with Vacation Bible School July 11 – 15 starting at 6 P.M. each evening. We invite parents and grandparents not only to hear the stories, but to be part of the memories with this year’s multi-generational event.

When the children of today celebrate their many many many many years ago, what will they remember? Let’s make sure they have many treasured memories by bringing them to Vacation Bible School.

See you there!
